The Xpert has been produced for eight years at the time of writing and has an exceptionally high positive rating. Now I know why.

I decided to go for a wired blower, rather than the much more prominently advertised battery blowers, because I thought I would get more power - and I was right. On its high setting the Xpert presses keys on a mechanical keyboard and blows my mouse onto the floor!

The Xpert looks rather like and is about the size of a plant watering can and is covered with a matte anti-static coating which works - no blown dust ends up on it. The mains lead is thick, braided and about 10 feet long; it goes straight from socket to Xpert without a "brick". There are three brushes provided to get dust and dirt out of awkward spots then three nozzles/combined brush-nozzles to blow it away. The last click onto the Xpert with a twist; if they were simply pushed on they would fly off.

There is a simple but effective safety mechanism - the rocker switch has three settings, off, high and low, and air blows only when the switch is pressed and held to high or low; the moment it is not held the air flow stops. There are no other controls.

As noted, the blast of air on the high setting is fierce - and noisy. Others have noted that hot air blows after a while. This is no surprise given that the motor is 550W, and the fix is simply to switch it off and let the Xplorer cool.

Obviously the target by design is electrical goods, and a few seconds on high clears all manner of rubbish out of keyboards and the back panel or insides of various devices, but I have had good results using the Xpert on:

- Extractor fans and ducting
- Filters (dehumidifier, tumble dryer etc.)
- Radiators
- Air bricks
- Corners
- Spiders' webs
- Bed (between slats)
- Under skirting boards (gap between board and floor)
- On top of architraves

The amount of dust and other nameless horrors that the Xpert blew out of air bricks in particular, which had probably not been cleaned for decades as there was no way of doing so until now, was almost unbelievable. I strongly recommend wearing a face mask. The last three are either where dust is pushed by vacuum cleaners or is normally hard to remove and, again, there was showers of it produced. As well as a face mask, light-coloured clothing is a good idea.

Spiders' webs are a nuisance to remove because they stick to whatever removes them. No problem with that here.

I add that it removed absurd quantities of crumbs from a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 which someone left after resigning from their job. (Worth repairing although no longer produced, as it is one of the few keyboards with reverse tilt).

The Xplorer is expensive but well worth it because of its excellent design, power, simplicity and versatility, although I recommend a hand vacuum cleaner as well to pick up what it blows on the spot.

Tengo muchos equipos (PCs, consolas, teclados, etc) en casa y regularmente tengo que limpiar de polvo su interior. Para eso no valen las aspiradores, sino que hay que expulsar el polvo con aire. Lo que hacía hasta ahora era comprar botes de aire comprimido, que con un precio a veces superior a 10€, se gastan muy rápido y además tras almacenarlos mucho tiempo pierden el gas y dejan de servir.

Harto de comprar botes de aire comprimido, decidí comprar un "soplador de aire". Nada más mirar en Amazon, vi que había decenas de modelos "a batería", desde 50.000 a 110.000 RPMs de soplado, pero siempre con batería.

Que el soplador sea a batería está muy bien para llevárselo a sitios donde no tienes a mano un enchufe (como el coche) pero implica 2 cosas: menos potencia que si usara cable, y una batería que con el tiempo se va a estropear sí o sí y perder potencia y duración.

Así que decidí probar este modelo con cable, que es el doble de caro que los modelos a batería, pero, sinceramente, me alegro de la compra.

El soplador viene con montón de accesorios que como se puede ver en la foto, se enroscan en el "cuerpo". El cuerpo tiene un cable de 3 metros, que me ha sido suficiente pero que siempre puedo enchufar a un alargador o regleta.

El soplador se acciona con un interruptor de velocidad 1 o velocidad 2, pero que hay que mantener pulsado para que sople. Está hecho adrede para que no se nos quede pulsado mucho tiempo, se caliente y se pueda quemar, ya que lo ideal es usarlo "a rachas", no mantenido durante mucho tiempo.

Tiene una potencia que me ha sorprendido, limpia el polvo adherido a los ventiladores de las fuentes de alimentación sin problema, pero más aún, me ha dado por probarlo en lugares donde no puedo limpiar con facilidad (armarios que hay que mover una vez al mes entre 2 personas para poder limpiar, debajo de arcones-cama que se acumula polvo, dentro de radiadores... etc) y es increible: el polvo sale volando, y lo puedes luego aspirar o barrer y se queda el bajo de la cama o el interior del radiador impecable. Si lo metes por un lado del armario y "soplas", sale volando por el otro lado cualquier pelusa acumulada y así dejas todo perfectamente limpio.

Los raíles de las ventanas, los bajos de los sofás, todo lo que normalmente implica moverlo para poder barrer, con esto puedes tirar el polvo y las pelusas fuera y quitarlo con facilidad, dejando todo limpio por donde has soplado.

Ahora mismo estoy muy sorprendido y muy satisfecho con la compra, espero que dure mucho tiempo y que el filtro que lleva (además del filtro de repuesto) dure mucho tiempo. Otros usuarios ponen que se puede lavar y tengo que mirar si se pueden comprar respuestos.

Lo único que me pregunto es que por qué no lo he comprado antes.

Tengo muchos equipos (PCs, consolas, teclados, etc) en casa y regularmente tengo que limpiar de polvo su interior. Para eso no valen las aspiradores, sino que hay que expulsar el polvo con aire. Lo que hacía hasta ahora era comprar botes de aire comprimido, que con un precio a veces superior a 10€, se gastan muy rápido y además tras almacenarlos mucho tiempo pierden el gas y dejan de servir.

Harto de comprar botes de aire comprimido, decidí comprar un "soplador de aire". Nada más mirar en Amazon, vi que había decenas de modelos "a batería", desde 50.000 a 110.000 RPMs de soplado, pero siempre con batería.

Que el soplador sea a batería está muy bien para llevárselo a sitios donde no tienes a mano un enchufe (como el coche) pero implica 2 cosas: menos potencia que si usara cable, y una batería que con el tiempo se va a estropear sí o sí y perder potencia y duración.

Así que decidí probar este modelo con cable, que es el doble de caro que los modelos a batería, pero, sinceramente, me alegro de la compra.

El soplador viene con montón de accesorios que como se puede ver en la foto, se enroscan en el "cuerpo". El cuerpo tiene un cable de 3 metros, que me ha sido suficiente pero que siempre puedo enchufar a un alargador o regleta.

El soplador se acciona con un interruptor de velocidad 1 o velocidad 2, pero que hay que mantener pulsado para que sople. Está hecho adrede para que no se nos quede pulsado mucho tiempo, se caliente y se pueda quemar, ya que lo ideal es usarlo "a rachas", no mantenido durante mucho tiempo.

Tiene una potencia que me ha sorprendido, limpia el polvo adherido a los ventiladores de las fuentes de alimentación sin problema, pero más aún, me ha dado por probarlo en lugares donde no puedo limpiar con facilidad (armarios que hay que mover una vez al mes entre 2 personas para poder limpiar, debajo de arcones-cama que se acumula polvo, dentro de radiadores... etc) y es increible: el polvo sale volando, y lo puedes luego aspirar o barrer y se queda el bajo de la cama o el interior del radiador impecable. Si lo metes por un lado del armario y "soplas", sale volando por el otro lado cualquier pelusa acumulada y así dejas todo perfectamente limpio.

Los raíles de las ventanas, los bajos de los sofás, todo lo que normalmente implica moverlo para poder barrer, con esto puedes tirar el polvo y las pelusas fuera y quitarlo con facilidad, dejando todo limpio por donde has soplado.

Ahora mismo estoy muy sorprendido y muy satisfecho con la compra, espero que dure mucho tiempo y que el filtro que lleva (además del filtro de repuesto) dure mucho tiempo. Otros usuarios ponen que se puede lavar y tengo que mirar si se pueden comprar respuestos.

Lo único que me pregunto es que por qué no lo he comprado antes.
