- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 August 2024Colour Name: G3 Pot + Stove Set 1Verified PurchaseThe stove is small and lightweight and seems sturdy. Finish is excellent and looks well made. It regulates well and has a nice roar. It does not come with a bag or case.
The pot is compact and the heat exchanger makes it a fast t boiler and you use less gas. It is ideal for one person and the slots, of you have a compatible stove, allow the burner to sit in the heat exchanger unit. This does supply a bit of a windshield and has protected the flame on a blustery hillside. The lid looks to be tritan and will not melt but does stick a bit after boiling. It has a silicone pot grab, strain/steam holes and a locking pot handle. Quality bit of kit all round.
I originally bought this for my wife but I will sometimes borrow it for my solo trips.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 March 2025Colour Name: G3 PotVerified PurchaseExcellent Product and lightweight, I bought this because of the heat exchanger on the bottom as it makes boiling far more efficient and as a result you save on fuel, and of course you don't have to wait too long to reach the boiling point. It's a decent size and will be functional on most stoves.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 October 2024Colour Name: G3 PotVerified Purchasei've used quite a fair bit now. its good - lighweight and practical. unfortunately its so awkwardly shaped for any stove piece that doesn't seem to be the (expensive) pocket rocket? slits are too narrow for my lamtor portable stove i got off amazon. its super tricky to get it to sit well and when it does one side gets stuck - i end up spilling water every single time. and when im in the middle of nowhere with limited water it really really gets frustrating. could be made better with a few adjustments to the width of the slits and the corrugations on the bottom so the stove forks don't get trapped
if you buy I'd read another review that states what stove piece it specifically worked with because it seems ultra specific. found it more anger-inducing that anything after about 7 nights use in the wild
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 July 2024Colour Name: G3 PotVerified PurchaseThis is not titanium so you need to be a bit careful with it.
It’s a great pot, the handle has a superb fold over lock system, closes over an excellent plastic flat lid that has a silicone tab.
The lid does stick when the water is boiling, so I just don’t put the lid on fully.
Fast boil times.
I paired this with the Firemaple Buzz stove, it’s the correct angle and fits perfectly.
I initially brought the stove and pot set but had to send it back due the Hornet stove provided being defective and very wobbly.
So the buzz fits perfectly and sits a lot closer to the pot, in my opinion, it’s better than the hornet.
Well made camping pot.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 June 2025Colour Name: G3 PotVerified PurchaseI love this little pot, heats up super quick and the ridged bottom makes it super stable on my stove.
I one down side is the lid expands and can be a little tricky to take off. I have the nack now
Overall Very pleased
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 July 2025Colour Name: G3 Pot + Stove Set 2Verified PurchaseExcellent value for money, when compared to more expensive versions such as JetBoil or Primus. I've seen it referred to as entry level, but I think it's much better than that. Easy to set up and use, exttemely lightweight. Build quality is excellent at first look. will update as it gets more usage. The stove is stable especially with the canister stand fitted and I particularly like the piezoelectric igniter.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 September 2024Colour Name: G3 PotVerified PurchaseWasn't sure if heat exchanger pits would work with an alcohol stove, but took a punt. It works very well.
650ml of cold tap water, boiled in 6m15s on my Trangia burner. Usually 650ml takes over 9 mins. Will save fuel in the long runm
Well made, and very happy with it, only 2 minor niggles, 1. Lid gets stuck when boiling, but I now just rest it off centre slightly.
2. I cannot see the measurements on the inside of the pot anywhere near as easily as my other pots/mugs etc
Neither of these minor gripes, would stop me buying it again.
Worth just under £20.00 I paid. Highly recommend this.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2024Colour Name: G3 PotVerified PurchaseAlthough the anodised aluminium (my favourite pot material) is light it feels strong enough to endure some substantial use. The lid is a bit flimsy but should be OK if it’s treated carefully, as other reviewers have stated the lid gets tight as water comes to a boil but does release shortly after the temperatures drop a bit. I have tested this with my SOTO Windmaster and triflex pot support, this combo is very stable, pot isn’t going anywhere as it the triflex fits into the 3 groves for the supports.
I have a Widesea pot, very similar but not so secure as this set up. Windmaster with Coleman extreme gas 40/60 will boil water at the max level in about 1min 30 seconds with an Optimus clip on windshield attached.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best system so far
Colour Name: G3 Pot + Stove Set 1Verified PurchaseThe petrel boils water faster than I expected! I boiled 1 cup in under 2mins. It was crazy fast. My only gripe was that my hornet 2 that came with it was fairly loose and rattling when the arms were in the open position and bottom of arms in the little notches. Good news is it was an easy fix. I simply took some needle nose pliers on the base of the arms and bent them down slightly so that the arms would have a little resistance while fully extending them. Now there is kind of "click" into place feel when I fully open the arms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great product from Fire Maple
Colour Name: G3 Pot + Stove Set 1Verified PurchaseBeen looking for this pot to become available in Australia since its launch. Boiled 500mls of room temperature water in under 4:30 minutes. Cools very quickly when finished cooking. Gas canister, burner, spoon and ferrous rod fit nicely inside as advertised. The pot does wobble a bit when one places it on burner but I found this to be no problem. I simply held the gas canister as I placed or removed the pot. This is my second Fire Maple product and I am very happy with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Très bonne qualité

5.0 out of 5 stars New leader in backpacking pot and stove duo?
Colour Name: G3 Pot + Stove Set 2Verified PurchaseAbsolutely Love My Fire Maple Petrel Ultralight Cooking System – A Must-Have for Lakeside Mornings and Beyond!
I just had to share how much I'm enjoying my Fire Maple Petrel Ultralight Cooking System, especially after a recent morning by the lake, as you can see! This incredible piece of gear has quickly become an indispensable part of my outdoor adventures.
From the moment I picked it up, I could tell it was well-made. It's incredibly lightweight, which is a huge plus when you're packing for a hike or a camping trip, but it still feels robust and durable. The design is sleek and practical, and the folding handle is a genius touch, making it compact for transport and easy to hold when you're sipping on something warm.
One of the absolute best features, which is a game-changer for minimalist packing, is that my Fire Maple Green Peak stove and a compatible fuel canister both fit neatly inside the pot, with the lid securing everything perfectly! (Of course, fuel isn't included with the system, but the space for a canister is invaluable). This means less clutter in my pack and quicker setup when I reach my destination. Plus, it came with a handy mesh bag that I've found incredibly useful both for cleaning the pot on the go and for storing it safely in my pack.
In the picture, you can see it perfectly poised for a relaxing start to the day. I particularly love how well the pot pairs with my Fire Maple Green Peak stove. It heated up quickly and efficiently, allowing me to enjoy a hot beverage while soaking in the peaceful lakeside view. The compatibility between these two Fire Maple components makes for an incredibly versatile and reliable system for any conditions. Clean-up was a breeze too, which is always appreciated when you're out in nature.
Whether I'm making coffee by the water, rehydrating a meal on a trail, or just need a reliable pot for camp cooking, my Fire Maple Petrel Ultralight Cooking System has exceeded expectations. It's truly a fantastic piece of equipment for anyone who loves the outdoors. If you're looking for a high-quality, lightweight, and efficient cooking system for your adventures – especially one that performs flawlessly with the Fire Maple Green Peak stove, keeps your entire cooking system compact, and even comes with a versatile storage/cleaning bag – I wholeheartedly recommend the Fire Maple Petrel Ultralight Cooking System. You can often purchase the pot and Green Peak stove together as a convenient set, or if you prefer, they are also available for individual purchase to suit your specific needs. You won't be disappointed!
